July : Being part of a whole

“You are at once a beating heart and a single heartbeat in this body called humanity” Wayne W. Dryer, You’ll see it when you believe it

We are all connected to each other. Deeply, we already knew it, right ? Everyone has an impact on his/her surroundings. Every action or inaction will influence the surrounding. You know that butterfly effect, when small things could lead to large-scale variation in the future. Originally, this theory is about a small action which could cause chaos. Wayne W. Dryer explains in his book that if someone isn’t aware of being part of a whole, this person could act negatively. And as a result, his/her actions will have a negative impact on “the whole”. In the end, it leads to his/her autodestruction. For example, if you go to a restaurant, and the waitress is rude to you, you probably won’t go to this restaurant again, even if the food is good. This waitress impacts the restaurant’s surroundings. If there are fewer customers, the restaurant will earn less money, and it could have an impact on her salary or she could lose her job. Her negative action could lead to her own destruction.

What about if we think the other way around ? What about a small action, a small word, a little bit of time shared with someone will have a positive impact on this person. And as a result, this small thing we do brightens the day of someone. Then, this person will have a good mood and maybe do a small thing for someone else. And so on, and so on.

The point is : whoever you are, you could bring happiness anytime (and it’s for free héhé 😛 ). I like the idea of spreading joy, laughter and kindness around. So let’s use our energy for unlimited kindness ! 😀 ❤ I would like to believe that at the end it will have a positive impact on the surroundings.

I enjoy my time here. It’s for me an amazing experience having the chance to be here for almost a year. Here, I mean, here this country, here in this non-profit organization, here with amazing people, here with its ups and downs. Here, enjoying every little thing. Here at this precise moment. Even if sometimes I dream about home I have no regret. Sometimes I can have my little piece of home in calling & texting family/friends/friends who become family, watching old pictures, listening to a song or cooking something I used to have at home. Some of you may have heard that home is not a place, home is a feeling. And being here is a unique experience that pushes me to develop myself and to take a step back in life. I would like to focus my energy on what really drives me. I want to unlearn running after time.

For example, the self confidence workshop I created is something which drives me. It is for me a way to value non formal education, to share a self development approach, to improve my english and to train on communication skills. This month I presented to future leaders on the training for leaders coordinated by Monika.

About Inex work, we did another trash picking. It was demanded by some people and I was  happy to see some very supportive people who participated several times in the trash picking events.

Still part of the Maltézsky rád lunches for homeless people 😀

Do you remember the project with videos in different languages we recorded for kids? We received lovely draws from the Presporkovo’s kids !! So adorable 😀 To thank them, we sent little surprises 🙂

From time to time I learn new stuff on photoshop to create promotional content. Yeah I know, you’re impressed by my art. Thank you, thank you 😀

⭐ New ⭐ I’m preparing with my co-leader Matúš the volunteering camp we will lead. It is called Čierny hrad, as hovoríš po slovensky veľmi dobre you already know that it means Black Castle 😛 It will be about the renovation of the castle ruins and archaeology.

Otherwise I enjoyed going out and visiting around : restaurants, coffee places, languages exchanges evening, concerts, karaokes, cinema, walks, swimming sessions, castles,…

Here in images :

With girls, we were to a lovely Jam Session outdoor concert. I enjoyed it a lot, the musicians played amazingly. I didn’t like it, I loved it 😀

Time to time there are outdoor exhibitions in the city center. One of them was created by Tomáš Halász, who is an award-winning photojournalist specialized in NGO photography. His pictures showed the violences done on roma people by police corps in 2013. This exhibition was to remind the injustice done on roma people and not forget to defend human rights.

There is a little cinema where you can find some movies in the original version. I was nicely surprised to discover one in french. The movie is called Réparer les vivants (Heal the living) and was about organ donation. I liked it, it was done in a realistic way where you can put yourself in each character’s shoes. The movie showed the viewpoint of the patients, the families, the medical corps and even the organ transplantation call center.

In the south of Bratislava, there is an old castle called Kaštieľ Rusovce and a beautiful lake. It was the first swim of the year, oh I missed it so much. It was a lovely place, the beautiful blue water was so pure that you could find fish there.

Bojnice, Čičmany, Trenčín : It was an adventure from the beginning till the end. From a dicey rental till an apocalypse of couscous falling on the floor, going through an amazing night dancing on slovak music, great food and beautiful landscapes. Guys, it’s such a freedom to get a car and drive wherever you want.

Ohhh maan ! How funny it is to play Monopoly in slovak haha Loved it, we were scanning every word. I lost, completely broke, and full of debts haha

Devín hike : From Bratislava to the castle, it was half in the city half in nature. Well, I faced a mosquitoes war but it was worth it. I’m always looking for some nature around, and those landscapes are not too ugly 🙂

Ok the last one : the Bratislava Botanical garden. Just my camera and me observing like a kid all flowers, little insects, colorful leaves, highness of trees, golden fish and cute squirrel ⭐

Ok the very last one : I got a biiiiiiiiiikee yeaaaah !! 😀
